Hi Food Bankers
The bargaining team just finished another bargaining session with SLT this afternoon! Here’s a quick update of what we talked about:
- We discussed union recognition, seniority, progressive discipline, and more!
- We did not discuss wages or health insurance. We will move on to discussing those economic issues once we’ve agreed on the basic structure of the contract.
- We were disappointed to learn that SLT is not willing to pay bargaining team members for the days they spend at bargaining sessions instead of at their regular jobs. SLT doesn’t believe the bargaining team is performing work for the Food Bank, even though the bargaining team members were democratically elected by their coworkers to advocate for the staff and the mission.
- We will be back at the bargaining table on March 11 and March 24.
