The management at the food bank has decided that our time is best spent sitting through anti-union meetings. They have empowered the management team to hand out propaganda leaflets and the board of directors is trying to make appeals to the staff not to unionize and promises that they will try better and is asking staff to give them another chance. Do not fall for these tactics. If the last year has shown us anything it’s that the food bank management will fire anyone they can at a moment’s notice. Without a union, we will have at will employment and the continual firings and constant reshuffling of teams will become permanent. How will we establish roots in the communities we serve?
